Psalms 37:25 (AMP) 25I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous (those in right standing with God) abandoned Or his descendants pleading for bread.
Discussion Point #1: Think through your family lineage or someone that you know: was there something that stuck out to you a story or testimony where God provided for the family? Did it occur generationally? Or more then once?
In the above scripture we are promised a generational blessing when we try to live biblically the blessing follows.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (AMP) 9Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant and His [steadfast] lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;
Discussion Point #2: Being the first person to follow God in a family is incredibly hard. When someone separates themselves and says “this is not how this is gong to end” shifts and moves things in the spirit that change everything. Does anyone have an example of this either biblically or personally?
1 Samuel 1:15 (AMP) 15But Hannah answered, “No, my Lord, I am a woman with a despairing spirit. I have not been drinking wine or any intoxicating drink, but I have poured out my soul before the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:20 (AMP) 20It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; she named him Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”
Hannah was blessed and her life was changed because she asked. She was blessed with a son and God let none of Samuels words fall un fulfilled.
1 Samuel 3:19 (AMP) 19Now Samuel grew; and the Lord was with him and He let none of his words fail [to be fulfilled].
It started with one person who asked God for something and how many lives were affected by Hannah’s and therefore Samuel's. When a quality choice is made everything changes.
Discussion Point #3: What quality decisions have we made?
When we make a quality decision to follow God and what He wants rather than us it opens us up for blessings and promised directly from him for example:
Proverbs 22:6 (AMP) 6Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Matthew 6:33 (AMP) 33But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Malachi 3:10 (AMP) 10Bring all the tithes (the tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you [so great] a blessing until there is no more room to receive it.
When in your life or someone else’s have you seen a promise fulfilled or a blessing? How did it happen?
All of these scriptures are if….then. If you obey this…. Then this will happen or you will be blessed. That’s the quality decision.
Challenge for the Week: Think generationally this week. Make quality decisions that set you or people in your life up for blessings.
