When your Enemy Falls
Sunday, November 10, 2024
When God vindicates a situation, a person, a family whatever he vindicates at that time it is for the benefit of His people, that is a biblical concept.
Psalm 37:6 6He will vindicate you in broad daylight, and publicly defend your just cause
What we do with that victory is up to us…
Discussion Point #1: Think how we need to act in a moment of victory, what should our responses be? How should our behavior be?
Proverbs 24:17-18 (AMP) 17Do not rejoice and gloat when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad [in self-righteousness] when he stumbles, 18Or the Lord will see your gloating and be displeased, And turn His anger away from your enemy.
Sometimes No is a sentence. When someone is wanting to engage in a conversation with you that in your gut you know will stir up strife. No is a complete sentence.
Discussion Point #2: Has there been a time where a simple No, would have been better? Please share if you can.
Matthew 5:37 (AMP) 37But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’ [a firm yes or no]; anything more than that comes from the evil one.
Discussion Point #3: Not every sentence, not every situation, not every question can be answered with a No; (even though it is a complete sentence), what do we do in those situations, what do we say when we don’t know what to say?
Luke 12:12 12for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
Matthew 10:19-20 (AMP) 19But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given you within that [very] hour; 20for it is not you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Titus 3:9-11 (AMP) 9But avoid foolish and ill-informed and stupid controversies and genealogies and dissensions and quarrels about the Law, for they are unprofitable and useless. 10After a first and second warning reject a divisive man [who promotes heresy and causes dissension—ban him from your fellowship and have nothing more to do with him], 11well aware that such a person is twisted and is sinning; he is convicted and self-condemned [and is gratified by causing confusion among believers].
Challenge for the Week: Before engaging in a conversation think before speaking and ask God to give the words that need to be spoken and put a watch guard on our mouth where we need to be silent.
