Jehovah Rapha: The God who heals
Sunday, August 11, 2024
We went over Jehovah Jireh God our Provider and Jehovah Shalom God of Peace. Now we are going to go over Jehova Rapha The God Who Heals.
So not only do we know, yes, God will provide for us and He is our peace; He is also our healer. There are promises of God that are ours as believers.
Discussion Point #1: What are some promises of God that we can stand on?
Exodus 15:23-26 (KJV) 23And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. 24And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? 25And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, 26and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
The Lord said I am the Lord that healeth you, in Me is healing. What did the Israelites have to do in order to walk in that healing? They had to obey, if you only seek the promise instead of the promise keeper the promise will never be met because it’s in the relationship. It was in their obedience and relationship where the promise of healing was.
Discussion Point #2: How many have heard about food recalls or issues in an item that someone purchased from the store that had something wrong with it and you had to take it back?
Apostle Joe and Dr. Rena have eaten food overseas that was questionable and they didn't think twice because in their obedience, they knew they could eat what they were given and be ok.
Again, Jehovah Rapha the Lord that heals you.
Exodus 23:24-26 (KJV) 24Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. 25And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. 26There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
It was an instruction that in their obedience there was healing.
Discussion Point #3: How can we receive God’s healing? How do we walk in it?
Psalm 119:10-11 (KJV) 10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.
Proverbs 4:20-23 (AMP) 20My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. 21Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. 22For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh. 23Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
Healing is in the obedience and not wanting to sin against the God who loved you enough to die for your sins, wrong doings, anger, lust, self-hatred, self pity, laziness, loneliness, and so much more.
He wants a relationship with you and obedience from us so he can bless us and keep His word because he can’t change His name He can’t change what He said. Gods name literally means Healing. It’s in His Name: Jehovah Rapha.
Challenge for the Week: Look over and read the healing scriptures below.
